Navigating the lantern lit path to a small traditional log cabin in Northeast Austin, the house was packed to see Archive Theater’s reimagined rendition of MACBETH. The cracked wooden windows to beat the heat, and the creative thrust staging ignited a sense of comradery for the drama needed for Shakespeare's famous Scottish play. Many are familiar with the story of MACBETH - three witches tell the Scottish general Macbeth that he will be King, resulting in murder and mayhem encouraged Lady Macbeth, the chaos quickly spirals out of control - but Archive sets the cunning mutiny during America’s civil war era. Altering places listed in the play to reference opposing sides during our nation's torrid history, mirrors the chaos and eventual bloodshed that occurs during Macbeth’s plight. The original “game of thrones” between the Macbeths and all who stand in their way is a shocking reminder of how greed and power can be a fatal elixir for the ambitious.

New production images have been released for Macbeth – an epic production in an epic space at Leeds Playhouse.

Queen's Theatre Hornchurch will open its Spring 2020 season with a revival of Shakespeare's bloodiest thriller, Macbeth. The revival continues the Theatre's tradition of quality, classic drama and will be directed by Douglas Rintoul, following his acclaimed productions of Much Ado About Nothing and UK tour of The Crucible. Most recently, Douglas has directed this Summer's highlight musical adaptation of As You Like It; a European premiere in partnership with the National Theatre. The Shakespeare Project's Macbeth opens tonight at the original Victorian theatre, Salomons Estate in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and runs to Sunday 24th November.

Ninagawa Company's Macbeth introduced UK audiences to the theatre of Yukio Ninagawa 30 years ago and this epoch-making production is now reprised at the Barbican to celebrate the work of the late Japanese director.

Serenbe Playhouse, recipient of the prestigious American Theatre Wing grant, and recently honored with the most Suzi Bass Awards for a musical in Atlanta (Miss Saigon), presents MACBETH, by William Shakespeare.
