INTO THE WOODS may be one of the most popular musicals for those skilled in the art of presenting musical theater comedy. So much so that when Cupcake Studios held auditions for the 17 character roles in the show, over 1,000 people submitted online and in person to be in the show at the North Hollywood theater location. So it is no wonder each and every person in the show creates magic when they take the stage! Kudos to Michael Pettenato, the group's Artistic Director who directs and produces this musical extravaganza, for selecting the best of the best to bring such excellence in all aspects of the production.

Shakespeare Academy @ Startford's Artistic Director Brian McManamon invites the public to attend free public performances of Measure for Measure and The Tempest in rotating repertory on the grounds of The Shakespeare American Festival Theater from July 29th-August 6th. McManamon will direct Measure for Measure, which opens July 30th at 8:00 p.m. and Guest Director Jessi D. Hill will direct The Tempest, which opens on July 29th at 6:30 p.m.

The town of Stratford is alive again with the sound of Shakespeare. Fourteen college students from around the United States and abroad began classes June 26 as part of the fourth season of the Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford (SA@S). Founded by Stratford-based charity The Mighty Quinn Foundation, the theater training program has been in residence on the grounds of Shakespeare theater property for the past six weeks and their first performance of The Tempest is this Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek below!

Laguna Playhouse Artistic Director Ann E. Wareham is thrilled to announce the third show in the Laguna Playhouse 2016-2017 season, CHAPATTI, written by Christian O'Reilly and directed by David Ellenstein, based on the direction of Judith Ivey. "I just fell in love with this play and the beautiful and quirky love story at its center.  I think our audiences are about to fall in love with it too," says Wareham.  CHAPATTI will begin previews on Wednesday, January 11; will open on Sunday, January 15 at 5:30pm and will run through Sunday, January 29, 2016 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

Pivot Arts launches a new celebration of innovative theater, music and dance in unique and often historic spaces from June 6 – 22, 2013 throughout Chicago's Uptown and Edgewater neighborhoods. Upholding its annual resolution to present provocative new plays by the Bay, Berkeley Repertory Theatre begins the new year by dishing up a pair of daring shows. The New York Times heralded Mike Daisey as 'the master storyteller' and 'one of the finest solo performers of his generation.' Padraic McIntyre, Livin' Dred Theatre Company's Artistic Director directs Pat McCabe's The Dead School at the Tricycle Theatre from 22 February until 13 March, with press night on 24 February.

Rupert Goold directs Michael Gambon, David Bradley, David Walliams and Nick Dunning in Harold Pinter's No Man's Land, at the Duke of York's Theatre. The production is currently booking until 3 January 2009. A Gate Theatre, Dublin production, No Man's Land is presented by Sonia Friedman Productions and Michael Colgan, with design by Giles Cadle, lighting by Neil Austin and sound and music by Adam Cork. Goold's production transfers to London following its opening at the Gate Theatre, Dublin in August.
